Canadian Fellowship of Spiritualist is fortunate to have many great people who tirelessly serve our

Fellowship in many ways. Among them are out Ministers, Mediums and Healers and Fellowship friends.

These volunteers run development circles, meditation evenings, workshops and help organize the various

events we have during the year. Some serve on the Board and in other Fellowship committees.

No matter how they serve, these individuals are truly the pillars of our Spiritual community.

Some of these individuals also offer private mediumship readings. To assist with

our ongoing Fundraising they have offered to donate a portion of the

monies collected from bookings received via CFOS.

What's involved?

The Canadian Fellowship of Spiritualists Mediums and Developing Mediums Agreement

Vetting Process for Developing Mediums

The Canadian Fellowship of Spiritualists has a vetting process for Developing Mediums. The process is as follows:

Only members in good standing with the Canadian Fellowship of Spiritualists will be offered opportunities to do platform work as a Developing Medium.

The Developing Medium is required to fill out all forms in this contract and submit them to one of the board members.

The Developing Medium is required to give a minimum of two current board members a mini reading at a mutually convenient time for all parties.

The Developing Medium and a board member, together, will review the details outlined in this contract at a mutually convenient time for both parties.

The completed contract will be taken into consideration at the next Board of Directors meeting.

If/When the Developing Medium’s application is accepted they will be given opportunities at various CFOS venues to give messages to attendees of CFOS gatherings under the guidelines included in this contract.

Mediums and Developing Mediums are required to:

Uphold the Seven Principles of Spiritualism.

Support and promote the work and aims of the Canadian Fellowship of Spiritualists.

Have a positive and healthy attitude that contributes to the grown of Spiritualism.

Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and courtesy when engaged in platform work or spiritual healing.

Respect the confidentiality of personal or privileged information.

Respect the right of other persons, Spiritualist or otherwise, to their own personal philosophy and beliefs.

Platform Etiquette

Mediums and Developing Mediums of the Canadian Fellowship of Spiritualists are required to observe platform etiquette when invited to work in the Canadian Fellowship of Spiritualists.

Dress appropriately.

Before speaking or demonstrating mediumship:

      - Greet the rostrum and the congregation

      - Thank the rostrum for having invited you to serve

      - say something positive about the fellowship

If you are speaking, stick to the time limit you may have been given.

If you are a medium, after you decide which individual in the congregation that you would like to give a message to.

  1. Approach them by describing what they look like, never by name.  I.e. May I come to the lady with short blonde hair with glasses that is wearing the pink top.

  2. Always ask their permission to deliver a message.

  3. After delivering the message, always end the dialogue with a phrase to close the message off. Example “I feel spirit moving away so I will close here and I leave you with that”.

If you are a medium, do your work and stop when called to time.

When you have finished, thank the congregation and the rostrum once again.

At all times behave in a professional and respective manner.

Special Consideration

As a developing medium you will be given opportunities to give messages at various CFOS venues. We understand that you may be nervous when you are giving messages and we also recognize that you may make mistakes due to nervousness and inexperience.

If any message starts veering towards predicting illness, death or begins to diagnose health issues, the Fellowship chairperson will stand up and politely suggest that your messages take a different direction.

This is not meant to rude in any way it is merely to make you aware that your message has accidentally ventured into an area that is against the guidelines in this agreement.
